ADVANCEFUEL holds second consortium meeting

The ADVANCEFUEL consortium met in Berlin on 20 March, hosted by project co-ordinator, FNR. Fifteen partners from the eight participating partner institutions took this opportunity to report about the work carried out during the first six months and to exchange ideas about the further steps.

The ADVANCEFUEL project will explore the commercialisation of liquid renewable fuels produced from lignocellulosic feedstock as well as renewable hydrogen and CO2 streams, and will provide market stakeholders with new knowledge, tools, standards and recommendations to help remove barriers to their uptake.

The working groups within the project team are organised according to the steps of the value chain and are closely interlinked. Close cooperation of partners and regular harmonisation of sub-tasks and their timelines are crucial for producing comprehensive, high quality results. Up to date, this has been successfully achieved for the completion of the first project reports, which are available in the publications section of this website.

Additionally, regular interaction with stakeholders from all relevant sectors is a major component of the project to ensure that the right priorities are set. Therefore, one of the topics discussed during the project meeting was the next opportunities to engage relevant market players aiming to get some of the project’s draft results evaluated.

ADVANCEFUEL representatives will be present at the ETIP Bioenergy Stakeholder Plenary Meeting (11/12 April), the Innovation in the Bioeconomy Conference (12 April) and the EUBC&E (14-17 May).

The next project meeting is scheduled for September and will be accompanied by ADVANCEFUEL’s first stakeholder workshop.
