ADVANCEFUEL presents biofuel market barriers at the ButaNexT final event
ADVANCEFUEL has taken part in the final event of the ButaNexT project, which took place in Brussels on 12 April, presenting its work in identifying barriers to the market uptake of renewable advanced fuels. Ayla Uslu from ECN took part in a panel discussion on barriers to the uptake of products derived from sustainable biomass, and presented some initial results from the project’s survey on the topic.
ButaNexT (‘Second Generation Biobutanol’) has optimised the acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation process to convert sustainable, renewable feedstocks into cost-competitive biobutanol, for use in biofuels and bioproducts. The final event attracted more than 60 participants from research, business and policy sectors.
As well as participation in the panel discussion, ADVANCEFUEL was represented in a poster session where participants were encouraged to sign up to the project’s stakeholder platform.
